How to boost your life potential

I am writing this article after a discovery I made in life about myself. I was held up in what I would call self torture not for a very wrong time but I promise you it wasn't pleasant.

As you go through this journal, you are going to discover that your are probably going through what I went through and if it changes your life you can always subscribe to this journal and maybe make requests for more content or talks.

Look, I want to explain about who you are.  You have a physical body which you and everyone else can see. This is your host body , it can also be found in any other animal. We shall not talk about your body today because that's not important. We will talk about your mind.

The mind is the substance with which we think. We are always thinking and our thinking is dictating our life experiences. Animals do not have a mind so their functionality is limited. If you let your chicken out to walk freely after you openly ate one of them for supper, they wouldn't run to find a better place to be. When dark falls, they will be in your crip.

Your thinking takes you to the market, to make visits to friends, work, life achievements and goals. All this are happening with the direction of our mind. 

The important part is do you know that our mind is our greatest enemy? First I will take time to introduce you to yourself before I can explain how your mind is working against you. First, you are not the body or the mind. You own your body, you own your mind. Am talking about the first you, the precense that is ever present. 

We can call this presence the spirit, self , God or infinite intelligence which is not created or destroyed. This presence is observing your mind reading this journal now, it is observing what your mind is thinking.  To explain more about you , I will go back to the mind again so you can understand how separate you are.

You probably have goals that you want to achieve, a future you want and a past that you are so attached to. Your mind is the tool planning the future. At some point even your past was a future which came to pass. Now you mind exists because there is time, a past and future. So you mind keeps having activities either relenting a bad past and always looking forward to a good future.

You are probably looking for something to happen in future so your life can be better. You might be thinking more and more about that outcome that you let life pass in front of your eyes. Your friends are doing stuff enjoying life while you remain stuck thinking and doing the same thing over and over. Kindly observe the thoughts you have had for the previous 3 weeks. I will bet that all the thoughts you have had have been nothing but repetition. Probably this thoughts are about making a better future where you will enjoy life or life will be better. You will be happy In future if a certain circumstances happen. This is completely wrong as it indicates you are only living for the purpose of being happy in future.

As you and I speak kindly observe all the thoughts you have. I am talking to the first you , the ever observing precense that is observing your thoughts, that owns your mind, that owns your body. In another word I am talking to the spirit you. If you and I are now connected kindly watch your mind with me. First I want you to forget about anything in the past including the past 5 minutes because anything in the past doesn't really matter because it is already passed. We can't go back change anything so having your mind in the past is a self imposed prison which you can never change. We don't know anything that's going to happen in the future while better still we don't know if we are going to be there in the future.

Kindly observe with me that the only time we ever have is the present moment. Right now as you read this article observe this is where life is unfolding. As you read, observe you mind reading this article. The you that is observing is what I am talking to. 

To separate yourself from the mind that's killing you slowly let's now clear our mind and stop all the thinking. We are not the thinking mind so the mind knows if we stopped it from thinking we are fighting it's very survival. Also note the mind is what makes you fear, fear death because it's always afraid if it will not survive death.

We are not the mind, we are eternal presence existing in the now and the present. To shut down you mnd kindly stop it from thinking by first watching with your presence as thoughts come in. Watch what thought came in first and after how long. Kindly repeat until you can stay a day without thinking and several times during the day when you clear your mind from thinking. 

You will start to appreciate life and presence. Note if you now hear any background noise that you have not been hearing before. As you walk , you will start noticing things , people, trees vibrating, fresh air , and you will be more aware of yourself. 

This is not to say the mind is not important, we should keep developing our mind, our mind protects us from others, gives us goals and helps us achieve things. My suggestion is we should give our minds better tasks to work on when we need to and dedicate most of our other time being present, appreciating life and enjoying the present rather than using the present as only a means to get to the future where we will be happy. If thoughts are repeating in our mind or if they are useless to whatever goals we have In future, then clear your mind and enjoy the presence.

A tip! When you rest your mind from time to time, you will be more productive.
